My client is a leading Scottish full-service legal firm, employing over 600 staff in locations across Scotland.

This is a newly created , key role in a dynamic and progressive full-service law firm that places a strong emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and colleague well-being. They are looking for a skilled and proactive People Analytics Consultant to join their People team and play a pivotal role in managing and optimising their HR systems and data analytics.

What to expect

As a People Analytics Consultant, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation and management of their HR system with a focus on data integrity, reporting, and process improvement. You will serve as the primary point of contact for system-related inquiries, manage user access and security settings, and ensure compliance with organisational policies and data protection regulations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in HRIS platforms, particularly iTrent, who is passionate about leveraging data to drive strategic HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

System Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of their HRIS system, including data entry, system updates, and maintaining data integrity.
  • Manage user access, security settings, and system configurations to ensure compliance with organisational policies and GDPR.
  • Lead various system administration functions, including system design, configuration, and housekeeping activities in support of HRIS project initiatives.
  • Conduct regular system administration tasks and audits, including managing monthly upgrades, testing new functionality, and developing data reporting solutions.

Data Integrity and Reporting

  • Regularly audit HR data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Generate and analyse reports to support People Team operations, decision-making, and compliance reporting.
  • Provide data insights and analytics to HR leadership, informing strategic planning and HR initiatives.
  • Produce insightful reports and scorecards for Board level.

System Support and Troubleshooting

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system related inquiries and technical support, resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, implement updates, and optimize system performance.
  • Provide training and support to HR staff and other users on system functionalities and best practices.

Process Improvement and Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation and better utilisation of HRIS system.
  • Collaborate with the People Team and business departments to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead or support the implementation of new HRIS modules, features, or system upgrades.

Compliance and Security

  • Ensure HRIS complies with data protection regulations and organisational policies.
  • Monitor and enforce data security protocols, including access controls and regular system audits.
  • Maintain documentation of system processes, configurations, and user guides.

Candidate requirements

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and related software tools.
  • Excellent data management and analytical skills, with the ability to generate meaningful reports and insights.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in HRIS administration, analytics, or a similar role.
  • Previous experience of MHR/Itrent.
  • Knowledge and experience of data analytic programmes, particularly Power BI.
  • A good understanding of HR processes and best practices, including payroll, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to train and support users at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Location

  • This role can be based in any of their Edinburgh, Glasgow or Dundee offices with the flexibility to work from home part of the week if desired. If based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, regular travel to our Dundee HQ will be required.
