Job Description

Veritas Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a local primary school in Blackburn for a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. The role involves providing 1-1 support to a child in Reception who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for learning needs and has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Child: Assist the child in all areas of the curriculum, ensuring the safety and well-being throughout the school day.
  • Curriculum Differentiation: Modify learning materials to meet the specific needs of the child.
  • Behavior Management: Employ strategies to manage and support the child's challenging behavior.

Requirements

  • Experience: Prior experience working with children diagnosed with ASD is essential.
  • Skills: Ability to differentiate and adapt learning materials to cater to the child's needs.
  • Commitment: Initial temporary position with the potential to turn into a permanent contract.
