Father Christmas

Summary

At Wightwick Manor we welcome many families during the festive period to enjoy a much-loved and traditional Christmas experience. We're looking for someone to take on the character of Father Christmas to support the grotto team in bringing the magic alive. The Father Christmas role will involve working in costume in a traditional Christmas grotto setting, greeting families and children as well as handing out gifts.

Because this role means working with vulnerable groups, including children, so any job offer will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Hours: This role is an hourly paid, fixed term position. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible. The role will include weekends and Bank Holidays, however, there are no evenings or split shifts.

Will involve working weekends in December.

Duration: Fixed Term contract until 8th January 2025

Salary: £11.64 an hour

What it's like to work here

The home of a local industrialist, Wightwick Manor is one of only a few surviving examples of a house built and furnished under the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement. The rich collection features many original wallpapers, fabrics and furnishings by William Morris, artwork by Rossetti and Burne-Jones. The manor sits in an attractive Arts and Crafts garden which reflects the style and character of the house and is Grade II listed in its own right.

You'll be working in costume in a traditional Christmas grotto, greeting families and children and handing out gifts as part of our staff and volunteer team. You'll be giving everyone the warmest of welcomes, so every single person can experience the magic of Christmas and have a festive visit to remember.
