An established and growing accountancy practice based in Warrington is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a varied client portfolio, including SMEs and larger businesses, providing high-quality accounting and advisory services.
The Role:
As an Accounts Senior, you will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee the preparation of financial accounts, and provide business advice. This is a great opportunity for a confident and proactive individual looking to take on more responsibility within a progressive firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and tax computations.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance where necessary.
- Liaising with clients to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services, resolving queries, and providing business advice.
- Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact, and maintaining strong relationships.
- Assisting clients with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Supporting the firm's partners in business development activities and identifying new opportunities for client services.
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation and providing support during client audits.
- Monitoring deadlines and ensuring all work is completed on time and within budget.
- Attending client meetings to discuss financial performance and offer advice on business strategy.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients, including the preparation of accounts and tax returns.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Experience in supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- A proactive and problem-solving approach to work, with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
