Job Requirements for this Teaching Assistant role in Birmingham:

  • GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade C and above in English and Mathematics
  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with young people with special educational needs, particularly those with social, emotional, and/or mental health disabilities
  • Ability to collaborate within a team to deliver high-quality services for children and students
  • Creativity and initiative in addressing the intricate needs of children
  • Flexible and reflective approach
  • Commitment to ensuring top-notch teaching, efficient resource utilisation, and enhanced learning and achievement standards for all pupils

This role involves:

  • Working with pupils aged Year 4 to Year 11 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  • Providing individualised support for the personal development of children and young people
  • Conducting interventions with small groups of pupils to support academic, behavioural, and social progress
  • Promoting the progress and well-being of individual pupils and their respective class or tutor groups

This mixed special school caters to students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, including those with medical diagnoses such as ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD, and Attachment Disorder.
