I am working with a privately owned designer of leading FMCG brands sold into the grocery, ecommerce and discounter channels. They are based in South Yorkshire

Description

  • Leadership & Strategy: Provide visionary leadership, setting and executing the strategic direction of the company to achieve business growth and prepare for potential sale.
  • Business Growth: Drive revenue and profitability by identifying new market opportunities, optimising product portfolios, and expanding distribution channels.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that production, supply chain, and logistics are streamlined and scalable.
  • Financial Management: Manage P&L, budgeting, and financial forecasting, ensuring financial health while positioning the company for sale.
  • Team Development: Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with investors, board members, and potential buyers to ensure alignment on company objectives and exit strategies.

Profile

The Managing Director will have:

  • Proven FMCG Leadership: Extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the FMCG sector, with a focus on driving growth in SME environments.
  • Location: The leadership team and HQ are based in South Yorkshire, this role is office based.
  • Track Record of Business Growth: Demonstrable experience in scaling businesses and preparing them for sale, including leading successful acquisitions or exits.
  • Strong Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial management, investment strategies, and preparing companies for external audits or due diligence processes.
  • Operational Expertise: Expertise in optimising supply chains, production processes, and logistics to drive cost efficiencies and scalability.
  • Commercial Insight: Strong market knowledge, with the ability to identify growth opportunities, expand product lines, and develop strategic partnerships.
  • People Leader: Inspirational leader with excellent communication and mentoring skills, able to build and motivate cross-functional teams.
