Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable VAT Manager to join the expanding VAT team, which aims to double in size in the next 3-5 years. This role presents excellent career advancement opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
As a VAT Manager, you will:

  • Client Liaison: Work with clients to ensure they meet their VAT obligations, preventing unexpected costs and penalties.
  • Advisory Services: Provide well-researched, practical VAT advice and resolve disputes with HMRC through negotiation and insight.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse client portfolio and seek new project opportunities from inquiries.
  • Work Assignments: Assist with tender proposals, VAT marketing initiatives, due diligence, insolvency projects, and VAT training for staff and clients.
  • People Development: Support and mentor junior staff, encouraging their growth and learning.

People Management

The post-holder may be jointly responsible for managing some junior staff.

What You Bring

  • Strong background in VAT advisory and compliance.
  • Excellent understanding of VAT principles and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge across a range of client business issues.
  • Experience managing a diverse client portfolio and generating new business.
