The School
A primary school in a small town in Gloucester. The school prides itself on the positive relationships staff have with children. There is a real sense of community and children thrive in this nurturing environment.

The Role
This is a part-time role, working 5 afternoons per week. You will be supporting an individual pupil in Key Stage 2. The pupil has an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan). The main aim is to increase participation in lessons and work individually with the child, outside of the classroom, if they become dysregulated.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support child to access the teaching content and engage in afternoon lessons
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner
  • Support child's self-regulation outside of the classroom
  • Ensure pupil's safety and welfare is always maintained
  • Feedback to the class teacher and/or SENDCo

Essential Criteria

  • High levels of resilience and patience
  • Previous experience managing challenging behaviour
  • Ability to build trusting relationships

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working in primary schools
  • Education qualification(s)
