HR Advisor

We are working with a growing and successful professional services firm based in the city and they are looking to recruit a HR Advisor to join the business ASAP.

This is a hybrid role - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

This role would be ideal for a HR advisor who has proven generalist experience supporting across the full employee lifecycle within a professional services business. In addition to HR advisory, the role also has a focus on L&D, so would be suitable for candidates who have a strong interest in this area and can take ownership of key L&D initiatives and projects.

Reporting into and working closely with the HR Business Partner, the role will provide generalist HR advisory support to c600 employees across UK and international offices. The role is truly generalist position and will support across all areas of employee relations, HR best practice, learning and development and recruitment. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Reporting into and working closely with the HR Business Partner, providing HR advisory support to c500 employees (UK and International offices)
  • Supporting across all generalist areas of HR including ER, HR advice and guidance, L&D, recruitment and working on various HR projects
  • Providing comprehensive advice to managers in respect of employee lifecycle matters - e.g. probation reviews, maternity/ paternity leave, sickness, performance management etc.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on HR policies and processes and advise on HR best practice and employment law.
  • Provide support on ER; grievance, disciplinaries and all day-to-day ER issues, including coaching and supporting managers and dealing with escalated matters
  • Coach and advise managers around performance reviews and deliver workshops to upskill
  • Take a lead on L&D areas, including rollout of key L&D initiatives, working on L&D projects, supporting, and identifying areas of training and managing this in the business.
  • Support with the design and roll-out of L&D initiatives, including identifying and managing key training focus areas, facilitating, and running training sessions to small groups in the business, identifying and liaison with training providers and supporting with administration for the effective running of these.
  • Drive and lead on the annual apprenticeship programme from the planning stage, through to joining and then support managers with the ongoing performance of the programme.
  • Support managers with recruitment, including recruitment requests, writing JDs, and supporting through the recruitment process.
  • Assisting with any ad-hoc HR matters and supporting the wider team with HR projects

For this role candidates will need to have proven experience working as HR Advisor (minimum 2 years' experience) and ideally be CIPD Qualified (or working towards). Candidates will ideally come from a professional services background i.e. law firm, accountancy practice, insurance, or financial services.
