Driver Hire Halifax are working closely with a company based in Elland to recruit for a 7.5t driver looking for their next opportunity. The client are seeking a reliable and experienced 7.5 Tonne Driver to join their dynamic team in Halifax. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering gas cannisters safely and efficiently to various locations across Yorkshire, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to all transport regulations. You will receive training through the "buddying up" system in place by another driver so you can understand the role before flying the nest and being responsible for your own routes.
Location: Elland (Commutable from Halifax - Brighouse - Huddersfield)
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday
- 8.30am - 5/5.30pm
- Bank Holidays included as a working day
Pay:
- £14 an hour
- Up to £126 a day
- £630 a week (FTE)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle to transport gas cylinders to various destinations
- Load and unload goods, ensuring safe and secure handling of all items
- Perform daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary customer signatures
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions
Requirements:
- Valid UK driving licence with C1 entitlement
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital tachograph card
- Minimum 2 years of experience driving 7.5 tonne vehicles
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexible with working hours and willing to work bank holidays as required
