A reputable educational institution is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor for a fixed-term role, providing long term cover. This critical position is essential in enhancing and promoting our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety within our community.
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be instrumental in proactively monitoring and maintaining systems that foster a culture of safe working practices. Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, you will ensure robust processes for risk assessment and contribute to the development and enhancement of policies, procedures, and systems supporting health and safety compliance.
The ideal candidate will be immediately available or available to start at short notice. This role is based on our clients site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits, tours, and unannounced inspections to ensure compliance with current health and safety policies and practices.
- Implement safety measures, conduct inspections, and promote a culture of health and safety awareness across the institution.
- Stay updated with changes in legislation and best practices, ensuring continuous compliance with health and safety standards.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of health and safety policies, procedures, and systems.
Requirements:
- A proven track record in health and safety management.
- NEBOSH General Certificate qualification, or equivalent qualifications/certifications.
- Exceptional written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.
- Strong teamwork and networking abilities, alongside the competence to independently plan, prioritize, and organize workload.
- Experience working for a charity, College, School or University preferred
- Experience in meeting tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in general office software.
