The Infrastructure Development and Delivery Team within our clients organisation are developing vital infrastructure to reach Net Zero.

As an OHL Development / Portfolio Engineer you'll be the technical lead in the Overhead Line Infrastructure Development team. You'll focus on developing the Infrastructure Development & Delivery overhead line portfolio from initial driver identification to option selection, leading the portfolio development of Overhead Lines to ensure a deliverable solution.

  • Creating need case narratives and justifications that enable fast investment decision making, you'll identify and analyse engineering options, choosing a preferred option, and documenting the reasons for the decision.
  • You'll cost overhead line projects, create deliverable construction programmes and build relationships across our client's delivery vehicles to understand interdependent projects and drivers.
  • Understanding regulatory funding mechanisms and ensuring investments have appropriate funding allowance, you'll provide analysis on the overhead line plan to support deliverability and supply chain conversations.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams, you'll produce a consolidated view of the Overhead Line workbook.
  • You will deliver training, coaching and support to other more junior members of the team.
  • Understanding regulatory funding mechanisms and ensuring investments have appropriate funding allowance, you'll provide analysis on the overhead line plan to support deliverability and supply chain conversations.

What you'll need

  • Engineering background with a technical understanding and previous experience in developing overhead line projects.
  • Experience mentoring others
  • Proficient understanding of building construction programmes, safety in construction, costing overhead line projects and communicating with stakeholders.
