Cutting & Wear are a globally renowned company supplying downhole tool technology to drilling equipment manufacturers and service companies across the world. The site, based in North Sheffield and within 2 minutes of the M1, reflects both the heritage of the business and the drive for continued progress and excellence. Walking around the site, you will see traditional manufacturing processes used to make some of the original products alongside brand new, industry leading machinery that can create bespoke solutions for Cutting & Wear's clients.
The Finance Director is a critical position within the 6-person Board team. As Finance Director, you will be involved in all aspects of the business – providing strong financial leadership for the company and the Board. The role will be responsible for the full financial performance and reporting - allowing the company to effective plan, control and deliver a quality manufactured product. The level of business partnering the Finance Director will be expected to partake in is not defined, the business operates in a purely collaborative way – and this role will be ideal for anyone who wants to be a key part of all areas. The Finance Director will be expected to set the standard, providing an excellent internal and external customer experience – and uphold a sense of credibility and integrity at all times.
We are looking for a Qualified Finance Leader who understands working within an owner managed SME business. You will have broad experience in both supporting and challenging the Senior Management Team, providing financial and commercial oversight and guidance. You will have full control over the management of the finance department, the monthly reporting and will be responsible for presenting figures at the monthly board meeting. The role will require a level of knowledge and experience to interrogate the numbers, before investigating and reporting around the variances. Manufacturing experience would be desirable but is not essential – however working within an industrial style business would be seen as a given.
