Adecco Engineering are seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our clients organisation based in Renfrewshire on a permanent basis.

Our client are a supply chain partner to various leading Energy companies, by way of providing spare parts and refurbishment services ensuring clients assets and equipment operate to the maximum efficiency.

The role

The Senior Sourcing Specialist will mentor junior members of the team and have responsibility for the performance of the sourcing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with the company policy. The role reports to the Procurement Manager and is part of the Operations Department.

The successful candidate should have previous experience in a sourcing role. They must have sound commercial acumen, a high level of attention to detail, and be prepared to work quickly and effectively with a large and varied workload. Our client is looking for an ambitious individual who stays calm under pressure and is comfortable with multitasking to deliver projects on time. Experience gained in an Technical/Engineering Environment preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing and managing the following:

Provide hands-on mentorship to team members, nurturing their professional growth and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify suitable suppliers.
Initiate contact with potential suppliers to gather relevant information.
Identify supply options for customer requests.
Obtain and analyse price and lead time information.
Interface with the sales team to strategically source and plan quotation responses.
Compile, input, and review purchasing data within ERP and other systems.
Maintain a well-organised database of approved suppliers.
Monitor and report on product performance and purchasing activity.
Provide necessary support to other functions within the Procurement department as required.
Key Requirements

Essential:

Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, whole life cost of components, lead times & repair cycles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
Strong focus on accuracy of work and attention to detail.
Effective time management and strong organisational skills, particularly in managing multiple work streams simultaneously.
Ability to build and maintain commercially effective relationships with multiple suppliers concurrently.
Ability to take the initiative and work independently to solve problems by researching solutions.
Sense of urgency and ability to react quickly.
A high level of commercial awareness.
Desirable:

Project management skills.
Distribution experience.
Supply chain management experience.
Line management experience.
