The role consists of conducting detailed analysis of variable and fixed costs alongside producing management accounts for senior management. As a Cost Accountant, you will be an integral part of the accounting department in this organisation. Your responsibilities will see you be at the forefront of the budgeting and forecasting process, where you will be a part of financial meetings with senior financial stakeholders, including the Finance Director and CFO. Your thoughts and input will be valued and your opinions and suggestions will be considered. The organisation has built their brand with a foundation of listening to bright minds within, regardless of seniority. Our client is looking for an individual with a strong analytical ability, as in this role there will be some comprehensive reports that you will be producing. The organisation look to ensure that no employee feels like just a name or number, they look to incentivise collaboration within the team and Senior Management are often pitching in to ensure that deadlines are met and the organisation is succeeding. Skills Required
- To either have experience with cost accounting, calculating the variable cost of raw materials or to have a thorough understanding in costing with experience in an accounting role in manufacturing or a similar industry.
- To have an excellent style of communication, this is a senior role and will see you interacting with senior colleagues. Your thoughts will be heard, and it is important you are able to express yourself professionally in this position.
- To have a strong level of experience in month end responsibilities, such as budgeting and forecasting, alongside producing detailed variance analysis and providing a commentary.
- To have already started studying either your ACCA or CIMA, or to be considered Qualified by Experience.
