Logistics and Operations Coordinator

  • Working hours: working hours will be shifts of 10am-6pm and 9:30am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday

An esteemed luxury interior design company is seeking a Logistics and Operations Coordinator to join their team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth planning and coordination of import and export shipments, working closely with global clients and suppliers. The ideal candidate will be approachable and possess strong organisational and administrative skills.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and coordinate import and export shipments from the UK to global clients and from global suppliers to the UK warehouse, dealing with sea-freight, air-freight.
  • Schedule third-party transporters and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Obtain competitive quotes from logistic companies and streamline import and export processes.
  • Purchase packaging supplies and negotiate the best prices.
  • Work with the head of purchasing and sales team to prepare shipping tariffs for export to global distributors, collate weights/package dimensions/care guides/installation instructions for all products.
  • Follow up with suppliers to confirm or change orders, and check packing lists against invoices.
  • Maintain appropriate filing of logistics and shipping documents.
  • Communicate with the sales team, design team, head of purchasing, warehouse, and accounts team on delivery deadlines, incoming orders, shipping documentation, invoices, etc.
  • Resolve any quality issues or breakages with suppliers and/or customers swiftly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn on the job.
  • Interest in the interior design industry is a plus but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour.
