Our client is a multinational company, looking for a General Counsel to lead the legal function across the Group.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support the legal department
- Provide expert legal advice to senior leaders at board level
- Lead and manage corporate M&A activities
- Oversee the drafting and negotiation of various commercial agreements, taking a hands-on approach for significant contracts
- As a C-Suite executive build strong relationships with key stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage and develop teams across the business globally, with oversight of core international legal functions, corporate governance and ESG
The successful candidate:
- An English qualified solicitor ideally with at least 10 years' post qualified experience
- Proven track record of operating at an international level
- Will be a key member of our senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO
- Experience of managing legal teams and people
- Have good communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Have a commercial / business outlook to their work
Our client envisages that candidates will have at least 10 years PQE plus will have the relevant skills / knowledge for this position, however this has been given as an approximate guide for applicants and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this PQE range but who have the relevant experience.
