Robertson Bell are excited to partner with this meaningful not-for-profit organisation as they go to market for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position involves leading a team of four dedicated professionals, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the highest standards of financial management.
In this Financial Accountant role, you will:
- Supervise a team of four, including two Purchase Ledger Clerks, and two Sales Ledger Clerks. Responsible for performance management and providing training and coaching to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Take full responsibility for reconciling 20-25 balance sheet ledgers monthly, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with audit processes and manage cash flow statements, including some treasury functions, to maintain financial health and compliance.
- Oversee the month-end closing process and ensure all financial data is accurately reported.
- Identify system and process improvements across the financial accounting function and spearhead productive change.

This ideal candidate will:
- Be actively studying towards their ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Have a thorough understanding of, and experience assisting with financial accounting duties, including balance sheet reconciliations, month-end ledger closures, VAT returns and the production of statutory accounts.
- Come from the not-for-profit or public sector, with a particular preference for candidates with a social housing background.
