An exciting opportunity for an experienced Homelessness Persons Officer to join an expanding organisation on the upwards trajectory in Surrey.
Homelessness Persons Officer will help deliver an effective and efficient Homelessness Prevention and Statutory Homelessness assessment service to support vulnerable adults facing homelessness.
- Permanent job
- Hybrid / remote - great life/work balance - 1 day a month in office
- Salary of £35.8k per annum (plus PRP)
- Performance Related Pay of up to 10% of salary
- Full Time - 36 hours per week

Key responsibilities:
Interview and assess applicant's eligibility for accommodation and make complex decisions regarding statutory homelessness duty/ status
Issue detailed and legally compliant decision letters
Provide advice on Housing Options, Security of Tenure, Possessions Proceedings and Welfare Benefits
Deal with complex cases regarding eligibility, non-priority and the intentionally homeless
.
The successful Homelessness Persons Officer will be/have:
Issued Section 184 decision letters - essential
Worked with homeless persons or vulnerable adults facing homelessness
Strong knowledge of housing options and housing legislation
In-depth knowledge of Part VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996
Able to interpret and explain complex legislation and guidance
The desire to progress with the growing Company
