3rd Line Support Engineer

Allegiance Technology are excited to announce a new vacancy for an IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success. As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our clients, ensuring the stability and efficiency of their IT systems. You will work closely with clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues, manage IT infrastructure, and provide proactive support. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude.

Location: Blackpool

Salary: Up to £35,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide level 3 technical support to clients via phone, email, and remote access.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage and maintain client IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and network equipment.
  • Perform system monitoring, maintenance, and backups.
  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware components.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of client IT projects.
  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and support interactions.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure efficient and effective support delivery.
  • Provide on-site support as needed.
  • Plan and execute server and data migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Assess and implement upgrades and patches to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve server failures swiftly to minimise business disruption.
  • Install and configure new servers, ensuring they meet performance and security standards.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to verify data integrity.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior support engineers to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.

Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in an MSP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience with server administration (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Proficiency in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (Office 365, Azure).
  • Experience with vitalisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
