Mechanic required for an immediate start!
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Length: Temporary ongoing
Main responsibilities of the role
- Responsible for the efficient maintenance and repair of the fleet of vehicles, ensuring they remain in a safe and operational condition to support the high-paced delivery of 24/7 services
- Maximise vehicle availability by independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues across a range of vehicles
- Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs, including engine and transmission overhauls, brake system repairs, and diagnostic troubleshooting, using specialised equipment
- Utilise diagnostic software and tools to analyse vehicle systems and interpret fault codes
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, including servicing, oil changes, and component replacements, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Health & Safety Regulations
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance Team performance as required
Essential requirements:
- You will have experience working within a position carrying out general maintenance and repairs to a variety of vehicle types
- Hold relevant qualifications – BTEC, C&G or HNC level accepted
- Hold a full, UK driving licence
- Ability to start at short notice
