Electrical Project Engineer– £38,000 – £45,000 + Benefits – Bridgwater, Somerset (Hybrid)

The Role

Do you have a background in electrical engineering and want to build a rewarding career in project management? Are you a qualified Project Engineer looking to take the next step? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

BW Controls is a successful, independent company with a growing team of 35 based in Bridgewater, Somerset. We manufacture control panels for the water industry and offer a site installation service ranging from, instrumentation, control panels, power upgrades, telemetry outstation replacements and general maintenance.

We're looking for a Project Engineer to join our site installations division. This role is also a great fit for someone with a technical background, such as an electrician, seeking a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ordering materials for projects.
  • Writing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Leading and coordinating site installation teams.
  • Attending client meetings and quality checks.
  • Making sure all health and safety regulations are met (both our own and the client's).
  • Solving technical problems on-site.
  • Putting together project completion packs.

We are an independently owned business with a heritage stretching back to 1987. We design, build, and commission robust and reliable industrial control panels. Our off-site manufacturing is supported by our comprehensive site installation services.

The Person

We're looking for a qualified engineer with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the water industry. You'll need to be a strong communicator and team player, with excellent problem-solving skills.

The following qualifications are desirable but not essential:

  • City & Guilds 2392/2392 or equivalent qualification
  • 18th Edition Part 2 qualification
  • Confined space medium risk training
  • EUSR waste transfer certificate
  • CompEx Ex09-Ex10 qualification
  • SSSTS/SMSTS qualification
