The Senior Data and Insight Manager will be used to working in a fast-paced environment, with a commercial attitude, excellent management skills and be highly analytical. You will sit in the ecommerce team, report to the Ecommerce Director, and be responsible for developing and maintaining all internal reports across all functions, ensuring all reporting requirements are captured, and translated into user friendly PowerBI dashboards to enable the team to self serve data. The role will also be key in providing insight and recommendations to the team.
Main Duties & Overall Responsibilities of the Senior Data and Insight Manager :
- Team management of a newly developed in-house analytics team, including workload management, personal development and training
- Overhauling the existing excel based reporting into user friendly reporting dashboards using PowerBI, to enable self serving from the team
- Working closely with all functions within the business, including Marketing, Product, Finance, IT and operations, gathering requirements and producing suitable reporting
- Design the PowerBI reporting structure to enable easy access to reporting across all functions
- Data centralisation and automation - Ingesting data from a variety of business wide data sources and performing required transformations in Power BI query editor
- Integrating 3rd party data to work alongside internal data e.g. Media Providers, Delivery suppliers
- Utilising data from Google Big Quer, Google Analytics and Internal Data Warehouse, and translating this into reporting dashboards
- Designing effective layouts using themes and report grids
- Ownership and maintenance of all reporting within PowerBI ensuring data accuracy and accessibility
- Using PowerBI dashboards to drive detailed insight and analysis to help support the business across all functions
- Streamlining the reporting process across the business, maximising automation and ensuring a high level of usage on all dashboards.
- Project manage reporting requests and development
- Training and education of the team to ensure maximum business impact of reporting and minimise adhoc reporting requests.
- Ownership of web analytics (GA4), including maintenance of existing reports and producing adhoc analysis for the team
- Ensure Google Analytics is configured to track all required metrics to answer any business question
- Improve the effectiveness of digital & marketing channel performance through data modelling, attribution & insight development
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders within the business
Technical knowledge required:
- 3 years Power BI - Including developing data feeds & dashboard creation, automation and maintenance
- 3-5 years experience in an analytical role focused on driving insight and action
- 3 Years Google Analytics experience
- Google Big Query
- SQL / WPS experience
- Advanced Excel / MS Access
- Experience managing large complex data sets
- Team management experience, including resource management and personal development
