Our London office is currently recruiting for a Business Development Executive. The role

This role supports two business development managers across our Corporate and Tax, Employment and Real Estate practice areas in London. The role holder will work in close co-operation with global MBD teams, Knowledge teams and our expanding support team located in Newcastle. The day to day activities of the position will include:

  • Assisting with all aspects of planning and development of business development activity and the targeting of marketing activity (all channels).
  • Working with the sector/practice leadership team and BD Managers to plan and implement business plans, budget proposals and campaign plans for the EMEA region.
  • Implementing BD and marketing activity for the practice and sector. This includes, but is not limited to, business development, client development, profile raising, marketing and communications, pitching and event management.
  • Acting as a key point of contact and ambassador for the practice with the wider business, MBD and other key stakeholders.
  • Establishing a close and effective relationship with the lawyers and partners within the sector and practice.
  • Producing bespoke bids, pitches and other client development presentations/content (formal and informal).
  • Supporting, and helping to drive, client development plans and activities.
  • Supporting and delivering client events, webinars and seminars.
  • Working closely with other MBD teams, for example, client relationship team, strategic bids, events, design and digital, and our expanding Newcastle Office
  • Coordinating practice and sector directory submissions, credentials and marketing collateral production.
  • Supporting the management of practice and sector MBD budgets, including reporting of ROI.
  • Contributing and leading on best practice and being curious about the possible.

Skills and Experience:

  • Graduate calibre with demonstrable and/or professionally recognised marketing or communications qualification (such as CIM, etc).
  • Experience in marketing and business development is desirable
  • Experience of working in a legal/professional services/partnership environment is essential
  • Confident and willing to take on additional responsibility as required.
  • Highly organised with a professional, confident, collaborative and proactive approach to their role.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple tasks and stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing and writing bids.
