Duration: Temporary
Pay: £40,000 - £80,000 pro rata (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for an Installation Manager for a temporary position working for a rail firm based out of Doncaster.

This role will primarily be based in Doncaster but there will also be travel involved between suppliers' sites.

Manage fitment partners during the installation of ETCS in line with the ETCS OBU: Freight Project, as per the project's requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Will be the main representative on third-party Traction Maintenance Depots and Railway Works to co-ordinate the First in Class installation works for the Freight ETCS project and Fleet Installation.
  • Will take a lead role in liaison with and supervision of fitment partners to ensure installations are progressed to an agreed programme and any technical issues arising are addressed.
  • Will support procurement and the factory in the supply and management of installation kits supplied to site.
  • Will be the main point of contact on site between the installation teams and test teams.
  • Will produce programme updates and regular reports to both internal and external groups.
  • Will work closely with the engineering team members in Derby and Chippenham.
  • Will have a key role in the wider stakeholder management associated with large industry projects.
  • Provide key input and ideas to help determine the most appropriate technical, product and commercial solutions within the given geographical and technical environment.
  • Ensure innovation and value engineering is applied to all proposals.
  • A key player within the project organisation.

Essential Skills:

  • Must be willing to fill gaps in own knowledge and experience through taking a pro-active approach to learning and seeking information from within and outside the company.

  • Experience of working to industry quality and safety standards.
  • Strong and effective communicator at all levels within the business and in front of new and existing customers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in Rail Vehicles retrofit/modification projects.
  • Proven and demonstrable experience of this type of role within the rail industry.
  • Recognised Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in an appropriate field (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Experience in project mobilisation and implementing new or existing procedures and processes.
