Building Control Consultant - £900pd (outside IR35)

Our client is based in West London and are 2 Local Authorities combining their Building Control & Surveying services so this is a fantastic opportunity to secure a high profile role and take your career to the next stage.

They require a Building Control Consultant to lead the team through this transformational period and ensure service delivery remains of the highest standard. Your role will involve working with members of the senior management team to implement changes to policy and the delivery model. You will be making full use of your previous managerial experience within a Local Authority setting and your confident decision making skills.

To apply you should be a Class 4 Registered Building Inspector but Class 3 applicants with extensive experience will be considered, particularly if you can demonstrate previous experience managing through change.

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Able to lead, inspire and motivate a team of Building Control professionals including those commencing their career within the industry.
  • Ability to prepare, manage and develop the Building Control service to meet the demands of the Building Safety Regulator and Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Educated to degree level in Building Control, Building Surveying, Construction, Structural Engineering and/or be able to demonstrate learning at an equivalent level.
  • Member of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE, CIOB or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in Building Control and possessing the ability to effectively manage a range of projects from domestic and dwelling houses up to 5 storeys through to complex commercial, mixed use and high-rise schemes.

Our client is offering a market leading rate of £900/day (outside IR35) and a minimum 6 month contract. They are also interested in hearing from those who would prefer the role on a permanent basis so please contact us for more details.

There is a hybrid working arrangement role with the expectation to meet the Building Control Team as needed and be available to attend site inspections.
