SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a male SEN Teaching Assistant to join a pupil referral unit at a college in Brent. This role is ideally suited for a candidate who has experience working with special educational needs (SEN) and can start in September on a full-time, permanent basis.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Working with Key stage 3 and Key stage 4.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in the development of social skills and positive behaviour management.
  • Facilitate inclusive learning experiences and adapt resources to meet the needs of students.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting learning.
