Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours Per Week. Flexibility is required, but base hours are 8am to 5pm.

Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled electrician/AC engineer, with a ‘can do' attitude to join our team.

You will be experienced, able and qualified to carry out full test and inspection of Electrical systems and fixed installation equipment, completing minor electrical repairs and installation's, carry out servicing and repairs. Responding to emergency breakdowns at several schools and buildings in the local area. Flexibility will be required, for example starting early or finishing late to work around the school's core opening hours.

The right candidate would be expected to be able to work as part of a small team and be able to conduct themselves appropriately when unsupervised, so proven knowledge and use of initiative is essential.

A willingness to travel to other sites as this may be required from time to time, any travel expenses and accommodation is covered for travel relating to this.

It is essential that you have excellent communication skills to liaise with other contractors and the customer, including school staff and that you remain professional and polite at all times. You will need to the ability to think quickly, prioritise tasks and work well under pressure, and you must adhere to onsite Health & Safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements to be considered for this role:

  • Full driving licence held for 12 months
  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2391/2394 & 2395 combined
  • IEE 18th Edition Electrical Regulations Certificate.
  • Level 2 & 3 Technical Certificates complete with relevant NVQ Level 3
  • Minimum of 5 years' post apprenticeship experience
  • You must understand H&S in the workplace
  • Enhanced DBS check (Carried out by Employer)
  • To be able to meet the physical requirements of the role
  • Good computer literacy and IT skills, of the Microsoft office suite of products
  • To promote a safety culture and operate in accordance with company and client Health, Safety & Environmental procedures at all times
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager.
  • Sound technical understanding of M&E systems including PPM, Reactive Maintenance and Fault Rectification.
  • A good communicator, able to liaise confidently with colleagues & clients.

  • AC qualification/experience
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • PAT
  • Previous Responsible Person, Authorised Person or Competent Person M&E experience.
  • Current LV Authorised Person Training competent.
  • Current Working at Heights Authorised Person Training competent.
  • IOSH Certificate or Diploma in Health & Safety or willing to work towards.
  • H&S in the workplace
  • Current Working at Heights Authorised Person Training competent.
