Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hatfield

Salary: Up to £36,400 + On Call pay

Hours of Work: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday- Sunday on 7.5hr shifts)

Overview:

Hardman Grey Recruitment is currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and engineering of a hospital.

The Senior Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Responding to Service Level Agreement Calls within a timely manner
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, inspections & remedial works
  • Notifying the correct line manager for calls that require escalation
  • Attending and participating in health and safety sessions as well as implementing a safe working environment in the hospital
  • Providing technical & operational support for compliance & equipment issues
  • Advising on policies and procedures
  • Working towards an efficient maintenance schedule
  • Providing feedback for maintenance to the directors
  • Providing medical gas first line support as a nominated person on site
  • Advice & support on fire systems training & acting as the fire lead
  • The completion of fire risk assessments
  • Liaising with contractors for estimates to complete works and sign permits for repairs or replacements and keeping records up to date
  • Legionella compliance checks,TMV and Air Handling Unit maintenance
  • Minor works in plumbing and electrical

The ideal Maintenance Engineer candidate will have:

  • The ability to be available for the on call rota
  • Experience with heating pressure systems and fault finding on pump motors
  • Experience in building maintenance, general maintenance and building service management and engineering
  • Confidence in managing and coordinating contractors and service engineers
  • Understanding of legionella preventative maintenance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of organisational and time management skills
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding skills
  • A HNC, City & Guilds L3 or NVQ L4 in mechanical or electrical engineering
