Credit Controller

Our client is a growing, profitable business in the construction and maintenance sector with offices in Northamptonshire.

Your new role
Our client issues around 5,000 customer invoices monthly for 6,000 accounts. The Credit Controller handles about a third of these invoices. Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage assigned customer accounts and ensure timely collections.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Reduce DSOs and minimise bad debts to maximise collection performance.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the franchise network.
  • Produce account reconciliation and maintain customer records and ledger accounts.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing calls, logging and resolving customer queries efficiently.
  • Undertake administrative duties (e.g., supply statements, copy invoices, credits, applying credit terms, legal recovery).
  • Process payment allocation to your ledger in a timely manner.
  • Resolve remittance issues with customers.
  • Responsible for suspense review and resolving amounts held on suspense.
  • Handle aged debt reporting, weekly banking reporting, and weekly bank reconciliation.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties within your capabilities.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate should have at least two years of experience in Credit Control. Familiarity with MS applications and the MS Dynamics operating system is beneficial. Proven experience of enhancing process efficiency is also required. The candidate must possess strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels, effective communication abilities, and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team. Additionally, a keen eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy are essential.
