A candidate with a strong grasp of the science curriculum, a love of science, charm, and the ability to keep children interested and involved in the classroom would be the best fit for the role of science teacher.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - this is essential
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is essential
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Minimum of 3 Months teaching experience in the UK
  • Experience of teaching science in KS3 and KS4
  • Thorough knowledge of the national curriculum and proficiency in teaching all three science disciplines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the UK curriculum
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities
  • Create opportunities for practical experimentation and exploration to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and motivated
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich students' educational experiences
