Head of People Operations Remote/Interim

Reed HR are looking to recruit a Head of People on an interim basis.

This role is remote, however you will be required to travel 1 day a week to the office.

This day rate will be paid via an umbrella company (not a personal services company)

Your duties are as follows:

Setting strategic direction and service delivery and activity across the People Operations teams the outcome of which impacts colleagues across organisation.

Manage the performance and direction across the People Operations service areas.

Ensure the HR Direct and the People Consultant team provide an expert advice and consultancy service with a focus on excellent customer service

Act as the lead expert, overseeing and advising on complex queries and (often impacting across multiple policy areas)

Deliver improvements in operational service delivery through accessing technology, best practice and lead on interventions that address themed queries and root cause

Manage the customer interface and monitor service delivery for queries into HR Direct and People Consult through regularly reporting and collecting qualitative data and review of performance indicators

Lead the operational team to adopt coaching centred service delivery.

HR Policy

Accountable for the development (including research and benchmarking) and implementation of employment policies and procedures impacting colleagues.

Ensure that all HR employment policies/procedures are developed and in place to comply with employment law, governance requirements and to develop best employment practice.

Ensure that all the policies and policy development are inclusive to all, engaging with stakeholders including staff networks and ensuring appropriate "equality impact assessments" are in place.

Ensure that all impacts of policy development and implementation are considered, including systems and process development, engaging with stakeholders across Payroll, Finance and the wider business.

Research, develop, implement and embed a comprehensive and supportive approach to increasing awareness of HR policies and policy changes to managers and staff across the organisation

Using intelligence from multiple sources (including PCPs, manager feedback and information from queries raised), analysing what may be broad and complex (or conflicting) information in order to identify the needs for specific or targeted policy support interventions

Provide leadership, support and direction to the individuals and teams across People Operations

Promote and champion continued development of the team, providing coaching, mentoring and support in their personal and professional development.

Manage and be responsible for the People Operations pay and non-pay budget.

Accountable for the resource planning and management of People Operations resource allocation.
