Finance Director

SALARY: Upto £70,000 plus depending on experience

JOB TYPE: Permanent Full Time (possible hybrid options)

Role Purpose

This role, based at the Company Head Office in Swindon, you will be responsible for setting up the financial capability and to help the business improve their financial strategy and growth plans over the coming years. This will cover all areas of finance that are key in supporting the future growth of the company. An incredibly varied role, this offers exposure to all areas of finance and will be part of the Senior Management team reporting to the CEO.

This will be a very hands-on role to help scale up the business. You will be efficient and numerate in handling all aspects of the organisation's finance. The successful candidate will have experience of setting up and maintaining effective and efficient financial procedures and experience of financial management. You will need to demonstrate effective team management capability. This is a great opportunity to implement new controls, streamline processes and add value to the company at an important stage of growth and consolidation.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • The implementation and maintenance of appropriate internal financial controls without limiting the entrepreneurial spirit of the business.
  • Meeting statutory, external and internal reporting requirements.
  • Balance sheet monitoring and production.
  • Preparation of audit packs and liaison with auditors.
  • Cash Flow Management.
  • Team Management and provide advice and guidance to everyone in the business relating to financial and business aspects.

Experience Required

Ideally with experience of working in Financial Director capacity and in setting up a new internal finance function with team management experience you should have:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualification and up to 3 years PQE.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people at all levels both internally and externally.
  • The ability to plan, balance and cope with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good standard of IT including experience of using MS Office.
  • Proficiency in financial software applicable to the finance function.
  • Strong team working orientation with a flexible and adaptable approach to work demands across the whole organisation.
  • Ability to effectively balance the need for compliance but demonstrate pragmatic advice that will not restrict business.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Self-starter, practical, able to work under pressure.
  • A 'can do' attitude.
