We are seeking a Senior Technical Architect for our Government client based in either London or East Kilbride. This role will be office based 3 days per week and the remainder remote with occasional travel to other locations as required. The Senior Technical Architect role will be an initial 6 month contract, paying between £700 - £800/Day Inside IR35.
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile:
- Proficiency in detailed technical hardware evaluation and selection of physical models for a variety of common devices, including PCs, laptops, mobile phones, printers, monitors, and peripherals such as docking stations and USB hubs
- Working knowledge and practical experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platforms
- Experience conducting security assessments of physical hardware, with an understanding of advanced threats at the hardware, firmware, and OS levels
- Providing hands-on technical architecture services to the Architecture team, taking full responsibility for developing technical designs and collaborating with cross-functional delivery teams to implement and deploy these solutions in the live environment throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Delivering technical architecture services to the Architecture team, responsible for creating technical designs that provide secure, scalable solutions for the Buyer's IT service
- Providing technical design and architecture services to the Strategy & Architecture team
- Developing high-quality end-to-end technical architecture designs, from conceptual to detailed low-level designs, using RSO's templates, Microsoft Visio, Jira, and Confluence
- Transforming complex business problems into technical designs and mediating between stakeholders at all levels, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical aspects
- Designing defense-in-depth security controls throughout solutions and collaborating with RSO's Security Group and NCSC to ensure the Buyer's IT service accreditation is maintained
- Creating designs for a subset of products and initiatives, including those with limited maturity, where the architect is expected to develop the initial target architecture and proposed technical components
- Delivering and presenting high-quality presentations and supporting documentation to the RSO Technical Design Authority, justifying design decisions and technology choices characterized by high levels of risk, impact, and complexity
- Expertise in Mobile Device Management solutions and Unified Endpoint Management solutions (preferably on-premise deployments)
- Familiarity with common device specifications such as IPMI (or equivalent) and physical components like Baseboard Management Controllers, USB hubs and controllers, and storage (data) controllers
- Knowledge of design patterns for Out Of Band and Lights-Out management
- Daily use of Microsoft Visio, Atlassian Jira / Confluence, and standard Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Broad understanding of a wide range of industry-standard IT technologies across business, data, application, technology, and security architecture domains
- Deep understanding of fundamental technology component building blocks, enabling the architect to work with both COTS and novel, bespoke technology products (including APIs, containerization, and microservices, as well as cross-domain security solutions).
