We are looking for passionate and dedicated Midwives to be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary professional team to provide excellent care for women and their families across South West England.
Job Summary:
The post holder will be responsible for providing autonomous, evidence-based, women-centred midwifery care while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies, representatives, and service users. The post holder will also support other midwives within the service, including taking on management responsibilities for the midwifery practice or team when the Band 7 Midwife is unavailable.
Description:
- Work as part of a midwifery team providing care and advice to women during pregnancy, labour, childbirth, and postnatal care in various settings such as homes, communities, hospitals, and Children's Centres.
- Possess the knowledge and skills to care for women during their childbirth experience and be accountable for their practice.
- Collaborate closely with obstetric colleagues when complications arise to ensure safe practice in any setting chosen by the mother.
- Contribute to the future development of the maternity service through participation in development initiatives.
- Be flexible in working across different areas as needed to meet the service's demands.
Requirements:
- Valid NMC registration as a Midwife.
- Proven experience in midwifery practice.
- Proficient level of theoretical midwifery knowledge.
- Experience working in all clinical areas.
- Ability to contribute to the development of students, midwives, and oneself.
- Strong communication skills, able to relate and communicate with patients and staff at all levels and from different professions. Adaptable communication style and able to work with and through others.
