Job Title: Legal Aid Cost Draftsman
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000
Location: Romford
Overview:
Join an established firm known for providing high-quality legal advice to both businesses and individuals. As the firm continues to grow and expand, they are looking to hire a Costs Draftsperson to join their team of costs specialists in their Legal Aid department. You will manage your own caseload while working closely with a team of Cost Experts. Your responsibilities will include drafting points of dispute, negotiating cost settlements, reviewing case files, and advising lawyers on cost-related matters.
Duties include:
- Drafting points of dispute
- Negotiating cost settlements
- Reviewing case files
- Advising lawyers on cost related matters
The successful candidate will have/be:
- Previous experience as a Costs Draftsperson handling Legal Aid based work.
- Strong knowledge of costs law and the Civil Procedure Rules.
- Experience in preparing Points of Dispute and reviewing replies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage a varied caseload.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong legal acumen and leadership abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
