Registered Children Home Manager (4 Bed EBD Service)

Location: Burton-on-Trent

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent upon experience) plus performance-related bonus of up to £4,800 per annum

Role Purpose: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Children Home Manager to lead our new 4-bed EBD service in Derby. The successful candidate will ensure high standards of care and compliance with Ofsted regulations, while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for our young people and staff team.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm with on-call responsibilities out of hours

Home Details: 4-bed home for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:

  • Provide effective leadership and management to the home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with Ofsted regulations.

  • Manage and support the staff team, ensuring they are motivated and well-trained.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

  • Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure the home meets all regulatory requirements and standards.

  • Strive for continuous improvement and aim for outstanding provision.

  • Care and Support:

  • Advocate for the young people and ensure their needs are met.

  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of the young people.

  • Foster a sense of belonging and stability within the home.

  • Operational Management:

  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.

  • Ensure the home is well-maintained and all health and safety regulations are met.

  • Participate in on-call duties as required.

  • Development and Expansion:

  • Support the planning and development of the new home.

  • Be flexible to manage either LD or EBD services as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Level 5 Management Diploma
  • Experience in managing a residential care home, preferably with a focus on emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and standards
