About the role:
You will drive data based decision making throughout eCommerce whilst envisioning the future of the consumer-facing side of the Ocado Smart Platform. We're looking for ambitious, creative problem-solvers who can challenge convention and make an impact. You responsibilities will include:
- Value- Identifying the fundamental metrics / KPIs behind the Ocado Smart Platform, the levers that drive them, and using these to help product managers unlock and track the value delivered by our products
- Architecture- Understanding where data resides, who owns it and how it is used throughout theplatform, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Tooling - Identifying and building reusable solutions to enable analysis to build on previous work.
- Problem solving- Use your skills and experience to find platform problems and opportunities, help to size them and understand the route cause and drivers to guide the product roadmap.
- Data democratisation- Empower teams with the right tools, reports and guidance to leverage insight to make better informed decisions
- Craft- Share best practice analytics techniques across Ocado Technology
What we're looking for:
- A highly numerate background, with a key focus on statistics
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- A proven track record of identifying and delivering actionable insight and demonstrable business change through the application of analytics and data science - ideally in a product led business
- Experience with experimentation and hypothesis testing
- A critical thinker, with the curiosity to be constantly on the lookout for opportunities and the confidence to challenge and push back
- Comfort operating autonomously
It would be great if you had (but not essential)
- Domain knowledge: Ecommerce, Supply Chain, Fulfilment or Logistics
- Experience of experimentation tools such as Optimizely
- Building dashboards in self-service BI solutions e.g. Looker
