Location: Falkland House School, Perth PH2 7AR

Salary: £22,500.00 per annum

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 10:00-18:00, Friday 09:00-15:00

Contract: Permanent, Term time only

As part of our continued growth in service, we are looking for a School Cook to join our team.

Main Purpose

The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality food and menu service during term time to all pupils, staff, and visitors across the Falkland House School Perth.

The role seeks someone with energy and enthusiasm, as well as the requisite culinary skill and experience. We would like someone that will not only manage a kitchen, but also engage the young people with food and enterprise. The successful candidate will support small groups of young people around food preparation and ensure their voices are central to any meal planning.

Essential

  • To take responsibility for the preparation, presentation and serving of all meals to an exceptional standard.
  • Qualification in Food Preparation and Cooking.
  • Food preparation skills.
  • Ability to carry out all aspects of the role to a high standard at all times.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Approachable, reliable and flexible.
  • A common sense approach.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative, and with resilience.
  • The ability to organise workload and multi-task.
  • The ability to work without direct supervision.
  • The ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Highly motivated with a drive to introduce continuous improvement.

The Location

Falkland House School Perth provides care and education for up to 24 pupils and young people with additional support needs between the age of 12 and 18. Our statement of purpose is to give the young people the skills, confidence and resilience needed to go and meet the world.
