You will support students in gaining a deep understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives, while promoting empathy, tolerance, and spiritual development. • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining strong communication with parents.
  • Promote critical thinking and discussion on ethical, moral, and philosophical issues, helping students develop balanced perspectives.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive classroom where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and beliefs.
  • Design and adapt lesson plans to accommodate the diverse needs of all learners, including those with SEN and EAL.

  • Lead and participate in extracurricular activities such as trips, guest lectures, and workshops that enhance students' religious education experience.
  • Stay current with educational trends and best practices through continuous professional development.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and uphold school behaviour policies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to provide cross-curricular learning opportunities.

  • A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching RE at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and relevant RE exam specifications (GCSE, A-Level).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity, respect, and diversity in the classroom.
  • A team-oriented, collaborative approach to contributing to the school community and working with colleagues.
