Incident Investigation Specialist

Are you passionate about protecting the environment? This role is your chance to support the Environmental Incident Team at Thames Water, working to make a real difference in improving Thames Water's pollution performance.

What You'll Be Doing as an Incident Investigation Specialist

  • Analyze and document significant pollution incidents, interpret scientific reports, and ensure accurate regulatory recording.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to report and analyze environmental data.
  • Assist the legal department with reports, develop new investigation processes, and conduct research projects.
  • Improve internal communication on environmental issues and provide training, presentations, and reports.
  • Mentor team members and provide expertise in incident response and pollution assessment.
  • Represent Thames Water in meetings with stakeholders to build awareness and maintain our brand reputation.
  • Engage in on-site pollution response, evidence gathering, and report production.

Hybrid Format: approximately twice a month working from the office, other days remote.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

Flexible Working Hours: Options include 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please note this role is a one-year secondment contract.

What you should bring to the role

  • We are looking for someone with strong investigation skills as part of previous work experience and an understanding of environmental impact assessment and mitigation methods.
  • You should be able to balance conflicting priorities and manage a changing workload.
  • Strong report writing and data analysis skills.
  • Previous experience in coaching others is highly desirable.
  • UK driving license.

  • Competitive salary up to £43,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
