Our client a successful growing business based near Boston are recruiting a Buyer on a fulltime permanent basis (Ambient) due to company growth. This role is about managing existing suppliers but also sourcing new ones to match our client's growth plans to maximize department targets.
Job Role of Buyer: -
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
- Continuously monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timely deliveries and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Stay
- updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations and supply-demand dynamics.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for the product range, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimise waste and reduce costs.
- Monitor inventory levels, track shelf life and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely rotation and disposal of perishable items.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers fostering open communication and collaboration.
