Travel Consultant - Selling holidays to Japan

Our client is an exceptionally successful tour operator, creating wonderful cultural adventure trips for their customers to Japan. They are looking for people who have spent time in Japan travelling, to join their team.

As a Travel Consultant, your primary goal is to turn incoming enquiries into bookings by creating exceptional travel experiences and delivering outstanding customer service. You will work closely with clients to design custom travel proposals, manage their bookings, and ensure their satisfaction from initial contact through their return.

Travel Consultant - What will I Be doing?

  • Client Engagement: Communicate with clients via phone, video call, email, and in-person to understand their travel needs.
  • Itinerary Development: Create high-quality, personalized itineraries for direct and trade clients.
  • Sales Goals: Meet individual and team sales targets by converting inquiries into bookings.
  • Booking Management: Oversee all aspects of client bookings, ensuring smooth travel arrangements.
  • Quality Control: Ensure travel documents are accurate and professionally presented.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance your sales, customer service skills, and product knowledge proactively.
  • Destination Knowledge: Participate in familiarization trips to improve destination knowledge.

Travel Consultant - What experience do I need?

  • It is essential that you have spent a significant period of time either working, living or travelling throughout Japan - you will be passionate about this country and everything it can offer someone wanting to explore it.
  • Customer service and/or sales experience is essential.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills across various platforms.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach to personal development.

Travel Consultant - What else do I need to know?

This is an office-based role with the first month in the office full time - once you are fully up and running there is the opportunity to move to hybrid - 2 days in the office and 3 days from home. The hours are Monday to Friday 9 - 5.30pm with occasional Saturdays. Base salary from £24,651 per year, with uncapped commission. 37.5-hour work week. 25 days annual leave, increasing annually, plus statutory holidays and birthday leave.
