Maintenance Fitter

We are seeking a time-served Mechanical Engineer to join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Fitter. This role is crucial in maintaining, testing, repairing, and cleaning machinery and equipment within our Concrete plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with MIG welding skills being a distinct advantage.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Carry out efficient and effective maintenance repair services for all on-site machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximised production.
  • Perform work as provided in Work Order format from the Maintenance Department.
  • Visually inspect, test, and repair machinery and equipment as scheduled.
  • Operate welding equipment for general maintenance purposes.
  • Implement effective preventative maintenance schedules to minimise disruption to the business.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Health, Safety, and Quality procedures at all times.
  • Report any QHSE issues in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with complex machinery.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Excellent Health, Safety, and Environmental awareness.
  • High level of integrity, proactive, self-motivated, resilient, and reliable.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to identify improvements to maximise time and minimise cost.
  • Ability to make good decisions in a pressured environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Professional conduct and a positive, "can do" attitude.
  • Experience with heavy/agricultural machinery is desirable.
