We are launching this degree apprenticeship opportunity this year, as we believe in the importance of developing young talent to be our future success at Müller. At Müller you receive the highest standard of training supported by our champions in the field.
As a Logistics Degree Apprentice you will be trained through the Supply Chain Leader Degree apprenticeship in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University.
The programme is designed to develop top class skills in logistics, with the individual being fully embedded within our Operations team throughout their training. You'll gain experience in the entire Supply Chain, which includes Planning, Finance, Health & Safety, Transport & Fleet Compliance, HR, Commercial, Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics Operations Management. Within these areas, you will work on real projects, and receive tailored training to build strong foundations. In each instance, the programme also incorporates the opportunity to gain an insight into the links and interdependencies with various other departments across the business.
The training will commence in October 2025 and will be delivered via a blended approach of distance learning, and 3-5 day block release sessions at Sheffield Hallam University. The remaining time will be spent putting the know-how to practice and good use in the business - all supported and nurtured by workplace mentors and academic coaches.
Units delivered through the apprenticeship include:
- Legislation in Supply Chain Management: Ensuring compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and regulations including conducting risk assessments and developing policies to mitigate potential legal issues
- Supply Chain Design: The ability to design and implement logistics strategies that align with the business objectives. This includes analysing market trends, forecasting demand, and preparing contingency measures
- Sustainability & Reverse Logistics: Developing and implementing sustainable initiatives to reduce the environmental impact across the logistics network.
- Operational Management: Proficiency in managing the day-to-day operations of the supply chain, including stock management, transportation, and warehousing. This ensures the logistics network operates efficiently and cost-effectively
- Supply Chain Analysis & Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with the latest logistics software and tools, such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). This also involves leveraging data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility, performance and coordination
- Leadership and Change in Supply Chain: The ability to motivate and lead people and teams, to delegate tasks appropriately and to recognise and develop people within the business. The capacity to address and resolve complex logistics challenges quickly and effectively. In a FMCG business, this involves strategic thinking and the ability to innovate and adapt under pressure
- Communication and Relationship Building: Strong communication and collaboration skills with supply chain partners, customers, and internal teams to truly understand the connections required to optimise performance and deliver success
