My client, a software house in Leicestershire, is looking to hire a project manager with experience in implementation to join their team.

Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for taking complex projects through various stages, from design and procurement to implementation and delivery. You will be managing multiple projects at once that range in value (upwards of £1 million) , duration ( typically 2 years plus) and complexity and will be accountable for ensuring they're delivered successfully: within scope, budget & on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage software implementation projects from inception to delivery, ensuring they meet customer requirements and are completed on time.
  • Liaise with software development teams to coordinate project-related development, ensuring key project milestones are met.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and partners, keeping them informed of project status, potential risks, and any changes in project scope or timeline.
  • Catalogue, prioritise, and manage project risks effectively, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact and avoid delays.
  • Input into and maintain detailed system design documentation for each project, in-line with the projects specific requirements and implementation strategies.
  • Facilitate, from a technical standpoint, project meetings; including kick-off, status updates, and post-mortem reviews, ensuring clear documentation of action items and decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Monitor project risks, actions and requirements using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, providing regular reports on project progress.

Qualifications:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or in a similar role within the software industry.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
  • Exceptional organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks effectively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience working with project management tools and software (e.g., Jira, DevOps, Microsoft Project, Halo, Visio).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Salary is based on experience but will range between £45000 and £60000.

This role can be predominately remote, but there is an expectation for you to go into the office more regularly to start with. There will also be regular ( 1 /2 days a week) travel to client sites. Therefore, the ideal candidate should live within commuting distance of the Leicester-based office.
