We are currently working with a Manufacturing company in Coventry who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 6-month interim contract. Reporting into the Finance Manager you will be responsible for assisting with month end and year end.
Due to the timescales this role requires someone who can hit the ground running as they are due to enter Year End shortly. Applicants will ideally be from a Manufacturing background and have experience of assisting with month and year end closure.
Duties include:
- Daily processing of business transactions to ensure smooth business progress
- Monthly reporting of financial results
- Financial and cost analyses to support business decisions
- Booking journal entries in accordance with guidelines
- Reconciling nominal ledger accounts in a timely manner
- Assisting in planning, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for all aspects of the reporting division.
- Involvement with the Sarbanes Oxley compliance processes and procedures
- Responsible for monthly staff payroll, also providing support and cover for weekly shop-floor payroll.
- Provide support for the Credit Management & Accounts Supervisor, including holiday/sickness cover.
- Both External and Internal Audit support, involving preparation and analysis.
- Stock Adjustments & liaising with the warehouse team for inventory changes
