We are inviting applications for the role of Construction Trainer/Assessor to join our educational team on a temporary full-time basis. This role is essential for delivering high-quality vocational training and assessments to learners within the construction sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction, combined with a passion for teaching and mentoring future professionals.

You will work with a caseload Level 3 and 4 higher apprentices, to deliver flexible, high-quality training and assessments within workplace. You will also have some teaching responsibilities, and you will need to have experience in delivering BTEC Level 3, HNC and Apprenticeship Standards

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • • Contribute to the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the College.
  • • Ensure the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision, and values of the college.
  • • Deliver on key performance indicators across the College, aiming to deliver continuous improvement.
  • • Promote the College with employers, sector bodies, schools, and the local community, developing effective partnerships with employers, the funding agencies, and other representative bodies.
  • • Proactively promote Safeguarding practice, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), Health and Safety, and the well-being of all our students and staff.
  • • Complete and remain up to date with Mandatory Training.
  • • Participate in the College Professional Development and Review (PDR) Scheme.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • • Proven experience in the construction industry.
  • • Hold a recognised subject related qualification at Level 3 or above or occupational competence in subject area.
  • • Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent.
  • • Certificate in Education, PGCE or DTLLS,
  • • Hold an Assessor's award A1 or equivalent
  • • Hold an Internal Verification award V1 or equivalent or be willing to work towards. (desirable)
  • • Current professional membership status (where required).
  • • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • • Ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • • Organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • • Flexibility to adapt to learners' varying needs and learning styles.
