My client are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to join their team based in Birmingham. This individual will look to produce professionally written proposals and pitch content that superbly articulates the organisations value proposition and win themes.

My client are a UK leading manufacturer within the work wear and bespoke uniform sector, who are looking to bring on board an experienced Bid Writer based in Birmingham.

The Key responsibilities of the Bid Writer based in Birmingham include, but are not limited to the following;

  • Re-write and edit proposal responses from various stakeholders, including sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal, and delivery.
  • Ensure win themes are clearly articulated to meet or exceed client requirements.
  • Deliver completed proposal responses to the Proposal Manager by agreed RFP deadlines; escalate issues as needed.
  • Lead storyboard sessions with bid/proposal team members.
  • Conduct market research for kickoff and solution meetings.
  • Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Identify and revise existing pre-written content as relevant.
  • Coach sales and solution/SME teams on writing best practices.
  • Present and tag new proposal content for the knowledge base manager for potential re-use.
  • Utilise proposal automation software.
  • Exhibit forensic attention to detail and meticulous proof-reading skills.
  • Maintain awareness of the company's ISO 19001, 14001, and 45001 accreditation's, objectives, and requirements.

The successful candidate of the Bid Writer position based in Birmingham will have the following experience, skill set and characteristics;

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bid writing, proposal development, or technical writing.
  • Proven skills in writing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment.
  • Experienced in leading story boarding sessions, participating in key review meetings, final document review, content sign-off, and document production.
  • Excellent written English language skills.
  • Experience in coordinating, managing, and updating a knowledge base system is desirable.
  • Strong research skills to gather information and data relevant to proposals.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements and legal considerations in bid writing.
  • Strong academic background (degree level) in English Language or equivalent.
  • Creative writing qualification is desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as APMP or PMP are desirable.

£40,000 - £45,000
