We at the City and Capital group are pleased to be representing a highly respected and fast growing investment house and commercial property finance lender who have been operating with great success in the space since 2006.

Our client offer a range of property loans designed for commercial borrowers, such as professional landlords/property investors and property developers. Such clients have access to up to £50m+ in funding for short term property loans such as bridging finance and development exits, as well as access to commercial term & BTL products to support landlord portfolio growth.

Due to their innovative range of loans and a solution based approach to lending they are growing at an incredible rate. They are targeting a £3.5bn loan book in due course, which will be driven by c£2bn in new lending in the current financial year.

Due to this it is imperative that they identify and appoint a new team member to their financial analysis team to assist with critical activity, that in turn supports our client in making key commercial and lending decisions.

Financial Analyst Department

Upon joining you will join a team of 4 Financial Analysts of varying levels of experience and qualification, headed up by experienced manager & CFA candidate.

Your role within the financial analysis team will be to assist with the modelling of financial data that may pertain to either the investment or lending side of the business.

In terms of investment partners and funding lines, you may expect to be involved at a number of stages of the relationship. This may be in advance of any relationship to allow our client to undertake their financial due diligence on an potential investment partner, utilising your modelling to determine the financial and commercial viability of such a relationship.

Once active, reports you generate may be used internally to understand the ongoing performance and commercial viability of such funding lines, as well as reporting directly to these investment partners in terms of the performances of the loans they are invested in to.

In addition your modelling skills will be equally valuable on the lending side. You may be asked to model financial data to determine the viability or current performance of property finance products, including aspects such as pricing, or key loan features. Additionally, our client have some large borrowers with multiple loans. You may be asked to model data as a report to help them understand the performance of that portfolio to drive their future lending decisions.

These are some core examples of how financial modelling helps to drive key decisions within our client, as well as assisting their key partners in driving decisions as a stakeholder to the businesses activity. Activity may not be limited to the above, as the business continues to grow.

Please note at this stage that no specific experience of working within investments, funding lines or property finance lending is required for you to be qualified for either of these roles, though this would be preferred.

For those with strong financial data modelling skills picked up in other sectors, all training will be given. If you are comfortable with building cashflow models, generating MI and reports from financial data and delivering accurate excel models in general, you will be a good fit!

Of course, for those with experience of these types of modelling requirements in property lending or investments, you will receive training on how our client approach their activity specifically and the above terminology may be slightly more familiar to you.

On Offer

Financial Analyst

A Financial Analyst will usually command a basic salary of between c£50k - £75/£80k basic with offers being entirely relevant to experience and qualification level. Salary will be complemented by immediate access our clients favourable bonus structure too, which will assist in boosting annual earnings significantly.

It is imperative that the arriving Financial Analyst has completed some or all of their CFA exams to be qualified for this role. The exception would be for a candidate with many years' experience in financial modelling who is about to commence them.

Please also note that our client base their offers on the balance between qualification and experience, as you would expect.

Within the role you will also assist with the development and upskilling of junior team members.
